Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair claimed that Israel’s assault on Gaza does not constitute genocide, despite findings by human rights groups and reports confirming otherwise.

In an op-ed published Thursday by The Free Press and republished Friday by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Blair, who is also controversial member of the executive board of Trump’s “Board of Peace,” said political leaders failed to stop the rise of antisemitism, reports Quds News Network.

Blair’s shocking statement comes after two years of genocide during which Israel has killed more than 72 000 Palestinians, wiped out entire areas, forcibly displaced the majority of the population and used starvation as a method of war.

Blair wrote that people should not cheapen the “charge of genocide” by applying it to Gaza.

He also justified the Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza over fears that materials could be used by the resistance. – AA
